Three little girls stand nervously awaiting the start of their dance performance in Iola's Farm-City Days event. The event was held each year in the courthouse square and featured a parade and typical small-town festivities. One would think kids would love that sort of thing, but it always took place just before the start of the new school year and, thus, served as a reminder that they'd soon be surrendering their summer vacation.
